Security Hole #1

Windows Vista has been on general release to the public for all of one day before this happens.

In a fantastic new twist by Microsoft, it turns out you don’t even have to have a virus or any other kind of malware installed on your computer in order to screw it up. Windows Vista’s speech recognition is apparently responsive to MP3s on websites and sounds from anywhere else.

“The firm (Microsoft) also said that voice commands could not be used for privileged functions such as creating a new user or formatting a drive.” - presumably in this case you just tell it to download a virus so it can do it for you.

Who’s going to be the first to put a video on YouTube with random speech saying “DELETE ALL MY FILES….YES” then?

Good work.
